MRT Awards Multistorey Car Parks, Systems Contracts Worth RM519.5 Million

KUALA LUMPUR, June 23 (Bernama) -- Mass Rapid Transit Corp Sdn Bhd (MRT Corp) has awarded five multi-storey car park and systems contracts for the Klang Valley MRT project Sungai Buloh-Kajang Allignment valued at RM519.5 million.
Chief Executive Officer Datuk Wira Azhar Abdul Hamid said with the five contracts awarded, 11 more work packages were yet to be given out this year.
"Progress for the MRT project is good, standing at 45.6 per cent for elevated and underground construction, as at May 31.
"Underground construction itself has shown significant growth too, which is now at 61.5 per cent," he said in a statement.
With the award of these five contracts, 74 out of 85 work packages have been awarded for the Sungai Buloh-Kajang MRT Line.
"MRT will achieve the target of first phase operations by December 2016, and full operation by July, 2017," he added.
