Gold Futures End Lower

KUALA LUMPUR, Nov 20 (Bernama) -- The gold futures contract on Bursa Malaysia Derivatives finished lower today, mirroring the downbeat performance of US Comex gold futures.

At the close, the November 2023 contract fell to US$1,971.60 per troy ounce from US$1,994.90 per troy ounce on Friday, December 2023 decreased to US$1,981.70 per troy ounce from US$2,005.0 per troy ounce, and January 2024 slipped to US$1,991.40 per troy ounce from US$2,014.70 per troy ounce. 

Contracts for February 2024, April 2024 and June 2024 all settled at US$2,000.30 per troy ounce. 

Volume shrank to 114 lots from Friday’s 304 lots, while open interest dropped to 232 contracts from 452 contracts previously.

The price of physical gold stood at US$1,981.05 per troy ounce, according to the London Bullion Market Association’s afternoon fix on Nov 17.
