KLCI futures end higher tracking cash market

KUALA LUMPUR, Jan 13 -- The FTSE Bursa Malaysia KLCI (FBM KLCI) futures contract (FKLI) on Bursa Malaysia Derivatives closed firmer today in line with the performance of the underlying cash market.

At the close, spot month January 2021 and June 2021 surged 22.5 points each to 1,636.5 and 1,625.0 respectively.

February 2021 added 21.5 points to 1,636.5 and March 2021 jumped 23.5 points to 1,625.0.

Turnover eased to 9,092 lots from 11,007 lots yesterday, while open interest narrowed to 38,139 contracts from 40,385 contracts previously.

The benchmark FBM KLCI surged 24.65 points to 1,636.69 compared with 1,612.04 at Tuesday’s close.
