KLCI futures sharply higher at close

KUALA LUMPUR, Sept 15 -- The FTSE Bursa Malaysia KLCI (FBM KLCI) futures contract on Bursa Malaysia Derivatives ended sharply higher today.

At the close, spot month September 2020 expanded 25.5 points to 1,529.0, October 2020 strengthened by 24 points to 1,525.0, December 2020 added 26 points to 1,521.0 and March 2021 surged 27 points to 1,516.0.

Turnover jumped to 10,657 lots from 6,128 lots on Monday, while open interest widened to 35,539 contracts from 31,948 contracts previously.

At 5 pm, the benchmark FBM KLCI rose 19.92 points to 1,531.28 compared to Monday's close of 1,511.36.

Bursa Malaysia will be closed tomorrow for the Malaysia Day celebration and will reopen on Thursday.
