Bank Muamalat offers moratorium relief for coronavirus-affected customers, staff

KUALA LUMPUR, Feb 10 --  Bank Muamalat  Malaysia Bhd ( Bank Muamalat ) is offering a temporary moratorium of up to six months for the monthly instalment payments on certain financing obligations for all customers and staff, as a relief for those who have been affected by the coronavirus.

In a statement today, the bank said the scheme would be applicable to all financing facilities for Individual and business customers, based on the merits of each case, and would be made available until July 31, 2020.

Chief executive officer Khairul Kamarudin said: "At times like this and as a bank that subscribes to value-based banking under Maqasid Shariah, we will work towards easing the burden of our customers who may be affected in various ways due to uncertain economic conditions."

Customers are advised to call 1-300-88-8787 or visit the nearest branch for further information on the eligibility for the moratorium relief.
