PUTRAJAYA, March 4 (Bernama) --  Bank Muamalat  Malaysia Bhd aims to register 450,000 members of M-Jannah, a 24-hour Muslim funeral arrangement, nationwide this year.

The non-financial product was developed in collaboration with Muslim funeral service company Bumijez Sdn Bhd to complement the ecosystem of  Bank Muamalat ’s products.

 Bank Muamalat  deputy chief executive officer Khairul Kamaruddin said M-Jannah would enable Muslim dependents make an early preparation in the event of the death of their family members to ease their financial burden.

“We are offering a holistic full-service funeral arrangement to fulfill all aspects of customer needs,” he said at the official launch of M-Jannah here today.

Khairul said M-Jannah, which was offered at every  Bank Muamalat  branch since March 2018, had registered 4,500 members as at end-January this year, and the membership kept growing.

The M-Jannah membership, which starts at as low as RM59 a year, not only provides a complete funeral arrangement worth RM1,500, but also includes zikir tahlil, full recitation of the al-Quran and a funeral expense payment of RM1,500 for the beneficiaries.

Other packages offered include the categories for spouses, children and senior citizens, as well as additional benefits, including preparing the tombstones, grave and badal haji (haj by proxy) services. These packages can be renewed annually.

Depending on the selected package, an M-Jannah member can enjoy other benefits, including death (benefits) due to accidents (maximum RM50,000), permanent or permanent partial disability (maximum RM50,000), claim for treatment bills, claim for ambulance bill, hospital allowances, Real Reward and a 10 per cent discount on treatment bills at designated panel clinics.

The registration for M-Jannah membership can be done at any 64  Bank Muamalat  branches throughout the country and in conjunction with its launch, a 5.0 per cent discount is given for every registration and renewal made in March 2019,  Khairul said.
