Last update: 30/04/2014
KANGAR, April 30(Bernama) -- The Perlis state assembly was today told promotions for the 17th Malaysia Games (Sukma) which the state is hosting were being intensified and would continue until it kicks off on May 24.
State Youth and Sports Comittee chairman Abdul Jamil Saad said the private sector and non-governmental organisations were cooperating very well with the state government in the matter.
He said among the promotions were a torch run that encompassed all 15 state constituencies, advertisements in the print and electronic media besides banners and posters across the state.
He was replying to a question from Datuk Ismail Kasim (BN-Tambun Tulang).
Meanwhile, Menteri Besar Azlan Man, replying to a question from Asmaiza Ahmad (BN-Chuping), said the problem of red identity card holders among minority groups like the Siamese community came under the jurisdiction of the federal government.
However, he said the state government was doing its best to assist those among them who were eligible to gain citizenship.
