KUALA LUMPUR, April 30 (Bernama) -- Allianz Malaysia Berhad (AMB) urges young Malaysian footballers to participate in its third Allianz Junior Football Camp and grab the chance to join the 6th International Junior Football Camp (AJFC) in Munich, Germany from Aug 20-25.

"We are excited to once again organise the Allianz Junior Football Camp. This is a great opportunity to bring teenagers together and develop their talent through an exciting football adventure," its Chief Executive Officer Jens Reisch told a press conference here, Wednesday.

At the camp, Reisch noted that the participants will get the once-in-a-lifetime chance of meeting the stars of FC Bayern Munich, participate in a professional football practice with the official football coaches of the club, visit the city of the Munich and watch a match of FC Bayern Munich live at the Allianz Arena.

Interested teenagers, both boys or girls aged between 14 and 16 years are invited to register online through Allianz Malaysia's Facebook page: www.facebook.com/AllianzMalaysia starting today until May 31.

Reisch said all registered teenagers will be called for selection from June 6-7 at Padang SUK, Shah Alam which would be conducted by ATM head coach B. Sathianathan and former national footballers, Shahrin Majid and Rusdi Suparman. which would be based on their speed, endurance and football skills.

"Allianz Malaysia will send three teenagers to Munich, Germany while nine others will participate in the Asian Camp in Bali, Indonesia. From the nine spots to Bali, we have allocated two spots for members of the Allianz Malaysia family to provide an opportunity to talented Allianz employees and agents' children who have grown up with Allianz brand," he added.

The AJFC Asia in Bali, Indonesia will be held from Aug 1-4.

Last year over 2,900 teenagers had registered for the camp and more than 1,200 turned up for the selection.

Meanwhile, one of the three young talents who represented Malaysia to Munich last year, Farid Ashraf Kamarozaman, 17, expressed his utmost gratification for the opportunity that Allianz had offered him to be part of the company's initiative through the football camp.

"I feel very glad to have been given the chance to gain knowledge in Munich which I didn't expect. The way they play (football) over there is very different compared to us, so I was able to pick up a lot of their skills of playing football," he said when contacted by Bernama today.

Farid also met the Bayern Munich stars such as Dante Bonfim Costa Santos, Bastian Schweinsteiger and Manuel Neuer when visiting the Allianz Arena, Munich last year.
