Last update: 04/07/2020

KUALA LUMPUR, July 4  -- The FTSE Bursa Malaysia KLCI futures contract on Bursa Malaysia Derivatives is expected to move in tandem with the underlying cash market next week.

A dealer said the local bourse is likely to trade in a hopeful mode next week on a combination of factors including COVID-19 vaccine optimism and better-than-expected data globally.

August 2020 emerged as a new contract month.

Turnover declined to 62,759 lots from 95,339 lots in the previous week, while open interest decreased to 36,587 contracts from 41,839 contracts the week before.

On a Friday-to-Friday basis, the FBM KLCI rose 64.51 points to 1,552.65.
