KLCI futures close lower

KUALA LUMPUR, Jan 28  -- The FTSE Bursa Malaysia KLCI (FBM KLCI) futures contract on Bursa Malaysia Derivatives ended lower, tracking the weaker underlying cash market.

At the close, spot month January 2020 fell 26.5 points to 1,544.50, both February 2020 and March 2020 were 28 points lower at 1,545.50 and 1,542, respectively, and June 2020 declined 27.5 points to 1,542.

Turnover increased to 31,847 lots from 6,066 lots recorded last Friday, while open interest widened to 67,010 contracts from 41,468 contracts previously.

At the closing bell, the FBM KLCI fell 21.17 points to 1,551.64.

Bursa Malaysia and its subsidiaries were closed yesterday for the Chinese New Year holiday.
