KLCI futures ends broadly lower

KUALA LUMPUR, Oct 11 (Bernama) -- The FTSE Bursa Malaysia KLCI (FBM KLCI) futures contract on Bursa Malaysia Derivatives ended broadly lower today in line with the weaker underlying cash market. 

October 2018 gave up 31 points to 1,706.0, December 2018 declined 30.5 points to 1,705.0, November 2017 decreased 32 points to 1,700.5 and March 2019 fell 32.5 points to 1,697.0.  

Turnover rose to 15,910 lots from 11,368 lots on Wednesday while open interest increased to 41,004 contracts from 35,717 contracts yesterday. 

The underlying benchmark FBM KLCI closed 26.69 points easier at 1,708.49.

Starting April the banks have imposed a 50 sen processing fee on top of the 15 sen stamp duty on each cheque. The fee also applies to those applying for a Banker’s Cheque, Bank Draft and Cashier’s Order. Do you think this additional charge is justified?
