RFCTT 2020: raising awareness of takaful for family
Last update: 18/07/2018

KUALA LUMPUR, July 18 (Bernama) -- The Malaysian Takaful†Association (MTA) launched the†first stage (Sprint 1)†of its†Family Takaful†awareness campaign, 'Race For Cover†Towards Takaful†2020 (RFCTT†2020)', here, yesterday.

The association, in†a statement today, said Sprint 1 with the campaign period from July to December 2018, was the first such initiative and its†members†would be promoting their takaful products throughout this period.

The campaign†is also aimed at publicising†the industry's concerted†effort in raising awareness about†takaful†and the Family†Takaful†penetration rate which currently is at 14.9 per cent (up to May†2018).

The MTA said†the subsequent sprint would take off in July†2019 and the final stage in December†2020.

Its chairman Muhammad Fikri Mohamad Rawi, meanwhile, said that in line with†the Life Insurance and Family Takaful†Framework issued by Bank Negara Malaysia†in 2015, RFCTT 2020 was an initiative to get members of the association†to partake in a friendly and†healthy competition which focused†on the†Family†Takaful†business.

"Just like in any competition, we hope this†particular competition will encourage our†association members to support our concerted effort in promoting takaful†to Malaysians through the publicity campaign†activities."

He added that†in the†Sprint 1 round, the association would†be recognising the achievements of its members†in specific†categories such†as highest†amount of takaful†protection, product efficiency, top intermediary/distribution channel, best Shariah product theme, and most popular takaful†product.

Starting April the banks have imposed a 50 sen processing fee on top of the 15 sen stamp duty on each cheque. The fee also applies to those applying for a Bankerís Cheque, Bank Draft and Cashierís Order. Do you think this additional charge is justified?
