KLCI futures contract closes higher

KUALA LUMPUR, July 12†(Bernama) -- The FTSE Bursa Malaysia KLCI (FBM KLCI) futures contract on Bursa Malaysia Derivatives ended higher today, tracking the uptrend on underlying cash market.

Spot month July 2018 increased 22 points to 1,706, August 2018 bagged 21.5 points to 1,703, September 2018 improved 23.5 points to†1,704.5 and December 2018 gained 21 points to 1,703.

Turnover fell†to 7,856 lots from†8,395 lots recorded on Wednesday, while†open interest widened to 40,059 contracts from 39,487†contracts yesterday.

The underlying benchmark FBM KLCI†finished 14.8 points stronger at 1,703.57.
