Bank Islam Appoints Khairul CEO

KUALA LUMPUR, June 14 (Bernama) -- Bank Islam Malaysia Bhd has appointed Khairul Kamarudin as new Chief Executive Officer (CEO), effective today.

In a statement today, Bank Islam said prior to his appointment, Khairul was the bank's Deputy CEO.

"His experience in the Malaysian corporate scene spanned over 21 years, including tenures at PricewaterhouseCoopers (M) Sdn Bhd and Pengurusan Danaharta Nasional Bhd, and was involved in various practices and operations such as audit, business assurance, asset management and recovery," it said.

He joined Bank Islam in 2005 and played a vital role in leading the asset recovery for Bank Islam during the turnaround and transformation years and was promoted to deputy CEO in 2016, said Bank Islam.

Khairul is presently the chairman for two subsidiaries of Bank Islam, namely, BIMB Investment Management Bhd and Farihan Corporation Sdn Bhd.
