Felda Land Transfer Issue: ANAK, Amanah Wants MACC To Continue Investigations
Last update: 27/12/2017

PUTRAJAYA, Dec 27 (Bernama) -- The National Felda Settlers Children Association (ANAK) and Parti Amanah Negara (Amanah) Youth today urged the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) to continue its investigations into the issue of transfer of title of FELDA land in Jalan Semarak, Kuala Lumpur.

ANAK president Mazlan Aliman said MACC should conduct a thorough investigation before making a conclusion that there were no elements of corruption and abuse of power.

"We, ANAK and Amanah urge the MACC not to close the file on the investigation into the issue of FELDA land but to conduct a fair and transparent investigation which is independent and thorough," he told reporters after handing a memorandum on the issue at MACC headquarters with Amanah Youth deputy head Faiz Fadzil here today.

On Dec 21, the media reported that FELDA was at risk of losing ownership of land strategically located on Jalan Semarak, Kuala Lumpur, which was estimated to be worth RM270 million which had been transferred in a 'dubious' transaction in 2015.

According to MACC Deputy Chief Commissioner (Operations) Datuk Seri Azam Baki, there were no elements of corruption and abuse of power in the case of transfer of FELDA land title.

Instead, Azam said, the MACC's investigation showed that it was a matter of weak management and was subject to police investigation.

Last Friday, the Royal Malaysia Police (PDRM) set up a special team to conduct investigations into the case of loss of four pieces of FELDA land in Jalan Semarak, Kuala Lumpur.
