Two Robbers Shot Dead In Section 7, Shah Alam
Last update: 21/12/2017

SHAH ALAM, Dec 21 (Bernama) -- Police shot dead two robbers attempting to break into a house in Jalan Platinum 7/37A, Section 7, here, early today.

Selangor CID chief, SAC Fadzil Ahmat said another suspect managed to escape in the 4am incident.

He said a team from the Serious Crime Division at the Selangor police headquarters rushed to the scene after receiving information from the public at 3.40am on a house break-in.

"Upon arriving at the scene, the policemen detected three suspects. They told the suspects to surrender but  two of them armed with a machete and 'celoret' (sickle-like tool) attacked the policemen, forcing the latter to open fire.

"The two were killed at the scene, and further checks found that they did not have any identification on them. We are also tracking down the suspect who escaped, with the help of dogs from the K9 unit," he said in a statement, here, today.

Fadzil said police seized a machete, a celoret and a house-breaking tool belonging to the suspects, and were currently trying to identify the two dead men aged in their 30's.

"We are also investigating the link between the three suspects and seven other house break-in cases which have occurred in the area since the beginning of the year," he said, adding that the case was being investigated under Section 307 of the Penal Code for attempted murder.
